:
  • 1.0 out of 5 stars from ValerieValerah -- Not Right : This is a very thin book, a total of 45 pages. It has none of the content as found in the other books called the Narrative of Sojourner Truth. If you are looking for the Narrative also called the Book of Life this is not it. Look for a copy that has closer to 300 pages. It was cheap and there is definitely a reason. ( Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2019 )
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars from Lynn M. -- A Remarkable Woman! : This narrative about the life of Sojourner Truth was dictated to her friend Olive Gilbert in 1850. However, Sojourner Truth who was born as Isabella Baumfree, went on to live until 1883; so, this is only a partial account of her life. ( Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2019 )
  • from ♫NewHorizons♫ -- VINE VOICE : I'm glad I took the time to read this ( 5.0 out of 5 stars )
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars from Netanella -- Recommended! : A powerful and emotional reading experience, one that should be required reading in Middle School, as I agree with one reviewer's post. ( Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2017 )
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars from Alan and Jan -- Religious fevef rather than political awareness : I expected that this book would deal with the struggle of black slaves for emancipation it dealt with Sojourner,s journey to find a religious sect that met her evolving beliefs. Whilst she was, a black 'ex slave' who with great fortitude travelled throughout a racist US I found little interest in the book. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 15, 2019 )
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars from Justice Recompence -- loved it history and faith : loved it history and faith ; the book was read by my teenage student and was also enjoyed by her ..the story of slavery as seen through the eyes of this very great woman was not just historical facts but her hopes dreams and rise fromthe ashes was well relayed ..yes ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 14, 2015 )
  • 2.0 out of 5 stars from Margaret F. -- Two Stars : A little bit religiously boring. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 3, 2018 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Mýss C. Sagar -- Excellent : A flowing narrative on a real based slavery story that at the very beginning starts to effect. Recommended highly. The book arrived in great condition. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 5, 2013 )
